Linking the Marina to the center of town, is the long and busy municipal quay. All berths along its length are normally occupied by local gulets; while some of the boats are for private use, the vast majority of them are here awaiting customers for the "Blue Cruise" charter, which takes guests from tranquil bay to tranquil bay at a leisurely pace. Bodrum is the most popular starting point for such trips, as is witnessed by the sheer quantity of gulets but also by the many chandlers and the proliferation of charter yacht agencies specializing in this line of holiday; some of these also take care of visiting yachts, and will do your paperwork for you.

The quay curls around under the castle by the town side; this is where customs and harbour master are located for check in formalities, close to the Kos and Datca ferry docking area.

Directly inland from here, about a mile away is the Sanayi (semi industrial) area where, as can be expected in a town with such a boating orientation, a good proportion of shops deal exclusively with yachts needs. Even though international chandlery brands may not be available here, one will almost always find here a Turkish made equivalent to the object of their quest at a very good price. A bit further are the town's three main supermarkets, well worth the trip for serious provisioning.
